In 2018, the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (tailored by the Data Protection Act 2018), came into force to help prevent misuse of personal data by large companies and organisations. However, it applies also to organisations of any size that hold third party personal data, including small clubs and societies like ours. The only information we hold in connection with your membership is that provided on joining the Society, i.e. names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses. We hold no bank details or dates of birth. Your information will be removed from our records if your membership ceases. PLEASE BE ASSURED THAT THE SOCIETY WILL NOT SHARE YOUR DETAILS WITH ANY THIRD PARTY OR EXTERNAL ORGANISATION.
To comply with the legislation, we need your permission to hold and use, in connection with your membership, the personal information held.
By providing your contact details you give Frinton & District Horticultural Society permission to communicate with you via the contact details provided. You also reserve the right to change/revoke this consent if necessary, and must notify the Society if you wish to do so.
